Philip Grindell MSc CSyP

Philip Grindell is the founder of Defuse Global, a boutique consultancy that helps prominent families, family offices, and the people who advise them feel safer in public life.

He spent almost 30 years as a senior detective at Scotland Yard, including secondments to British Intelligence on counter-terrorism. After Jo Cox MP was murdered in 2016, he created the Parliamentary Liaison and Investigation Team — the specialist unit protecting MPs — which went on to identify and prevent a planned terrorist attack.

Philip holds an MSc in Security Management, is one of fewer than 300 Chartered Security Professionals worldwide, and was trained by Dr Robert A. Fein, co-author of the US Secret Service study on targeted violence.
